Taylor Swift, full Taylor Alison Swift. American singer/songwriter who's achieved huge fame with the stories she recounts about her early heartbreak. Swift was a fan of music at an early age, and quickly moved from roles in theatre for children until her first performance before an audience of tens of thousands. When Swift sang The Star-Spangled Banner in front of an Philadelphia 76ers match when she was 11 she had already begun creating songs. In the following year, she began playing guitar. Swift got the inspiration to create her own music by artists from the country genre such as Shania Twain or the Dixie Chicks. In the year 13 Swift's parents decided to sell their farm in Pennsylvania and moved to Hendersonville Tennessee so she could spend more time in courting the country music labels in nearby Nashville.
